Review: Bait-Tech CSL Glug

The Bait-Tech CSL Glug comes under the beady eye of Angler’s Mail tackle editor Richard Howard. He’s the No.1 products inspector, checking out loads of quality kit every week.

Description: Corn Steep Liquor glug for carpy hook baits and freebies.

Ingredients: a 250 ml high-protein liquid food source in Natural and Krill & Tuna formats; listed ingredients include: maize products, sodium salt and sodium saccharin, cellulose gum, glycerine, water and fish extract, in the flavoured glug.

My verdict: Corn Steep Liquor is regarded as a highly attractive liquid food, produced as a result of steeping maize.

It smells yeasty, a little like Marmite, and carp especially find it very attractive.

These two glugs can be used as a hook bait dip, you can add some to a bag of ‘hook baits’ to glug them, or add some to your groundbait or your spod mix.

The Krill & Tuna CSL adds a fishy twist, to match the new Krill & Tuna boilies, pop-ups and wafters also just released under the Bait-Tech banner.

CSL has been around for a long time, but it’s certainly worth trying if you haven’t already done so.

Price: £6.99.
